The Law Office of Mike Flory provides client centered services to those in need aggressive criminal defense in Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. Over the years I have developed an expertise in: DUI cases, domestic violence cases, juvenile cases, narcotics cases (having tried some of the biggest narcotics cases in Orange County) and cases involving violent and serious strike allegations and / or violent and serious strike priors. No case is too big or too small for me to handle.
I use a proactive approach in my practice of the law. When a client believes he or she is under investigation for a crime, I will contact the prosecuting agency and work hard to prevent the case from being filed. Using my longstanding relationships with various prosecuting agencies, judges, prosecutors and my legal abilities, I will often be able to negotiate directly with the prosecutor who is assigned to my client’s case in order to negotiate a favorable plea offer; in some cases, to secure dismissal of the charges. The reality is that 99% of the cases filed by a city attorney or district attorneys’ office result in pleas. My longstanding relationships with members of various District Attorneys’ offices allow my clients to get beneficial dispositions that others do not get.
If I am unable to secure a favorable plea deal for my clients, we will go to trial. I am not afraid to litigate any criminal matter. During my thirty years of criminal law practice, I have tried over 100 cases. A jury trial is not the only way to aggressively litigate a case, I will also litigate the case via motions to suppress evidence, preliminary hearings (if the case is a felony), 17(b) motions (to reduce a felony to a misdemeanor), pretrial motions and a jury trial.
I have handled almost every kind of criminal case in my 30 years as a criminal attorney. My litigation experience consists of conducting over 100 criminal trials, conducting thousands of preliminary hearings, conducting hundreds of motions to dismiss a holding order (995 motions), conducting hundreds of motions to suppress evidence, conducting hundreds of parole hearings, conducting hundreds of motions to expunge both felony and misdemeanor convictions (Penal Code Section 1203.4 motions), habeas corpus motions, appeals in front of the Court of Appeal and presented several cases in front of the Grand Jury.
